Pastoral Care

Pastoral Care

“It takes a village to raise a child”. At CMSHS we understand the importance and meaning behind this adage. We cannot work in isolation to facilitate an all-round development of the child.

We need the support of the family and the community.

Our goal is to develop young adults with the self-belief, desire and skills to engage confidently, capably and compassionately in an ever-changing world. Students are encouraged and guided to make informed choices; respect themselves, others and the environment; develop skills to be optimistic and to cope with life’s ups and downs; embrace diversity; and lead balanced, healthy lifestyles.

Pastoral care is embedded in our House system and the Home Room system which encourages team spirit and a feeling of belonging. Classroom teachers , Home Room teachers along with the students services team of – Student Services Manager, the Chaplain, School Psych, Youth Worker and AIEOs ensure a wrap-around pastoral support for our students at CMSHS.
